Hispanic Heritage at our Makerspace!

Join us today, Monday, 9/27, after school for crafts honoring Hispanic culture. We will be creating tissue paper flowers, learning about papel picado, and coloring flags. All are welcome and bus passes will be provided!

Our first meeting of Project LIT will take place October 25th. This is our school’s book club. Please see Mrs. Neiderman for more information and to join our Google Classroom.

Announcing Fantasy Con!

Do you love Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Star Wars? What about fantasy gaming or comics? Well then, you should come to fantasy con! As a follow up to our successful Comic-Con last year, Fantasy Con will have panels about your favorite fantasy series and topics, fantasy-inspired crafts and gaming, trivia and costume contests and MORE! Parents and siblings are welcome. There are lots of ways for family and community members to participate – if you are interested, please email Mrs. Neiderman (sneiderman@ewrsd.k12.nj.us)! This event is generously sponsored by the East Windsor Education Association.

February Events

Dungeons and Dragons:

We have two groups of D&D players, our newbies and returning adventurers. Newbie dates for this month are 2/13 and 2/18. Returning dates are 2/4 and 2/25.

Makerspace:

Our makerspace is open the after school the first Tuesday of every month. Join us 2/4 to make some Valentines, or 3/3 to get a preview of our Fantasy Con crafts and help us get ready!

Project LIT:

Join us on Tuesday, 2/25 for our Kreps book club, Project LIT. We will be talking about It’s Trevor Noah: Born a Crime, young readers edition. See you there!

Tabletop Gaming:

We will have our monthly tabletop afternoon on Thursday, 2/27. We will be playing party games like Wits and Wagers, Code Names, and Jenga. See you there!

January programs

Our open Makerspace has been rescheduled for Tuesday, 1/21. We will be learning some simple crocheting – all are welcome!

Our experienced Dungeons & Dragons group with our student Dungeon Masters will meet this month on Tuesday, 1/21 and Tuesday, 1/28. The dates for our newbies Dungeons & Dragons group will be posted by this Friday.

The theme for Project LIT, our Kreps book club, is Mystery, Suspense and Horror! Come to our meeting on Tuesday, 1/28 with your favorite recommendations from these popular genres, make some new friends, and hear about some new books. All are welcome and there will be snacks!

Our next tabletop gaming afternoon will be Thursday, 1/30. Our featured game will be Robo Rally! See you there!

Upcoming Events

Our next Tabletop Gaming event is on Halloween – we will be learning the game Zombies!! Bring your Magic: The Gathering cards if you’d like to play.

Next after school Makerspace is November 12th – we will be making simple pumpkin centerpieces. All crafting supplies and tech toys will be available as well.

Interested in playing Dungeons and Dragons? We will be starting campaigns in January, so we are having two Interest Sessions/Character Creation Workshops on 11/14 and 12/5. If you would like to play in January please come to one of these sessions or speak to Mrs. Neiderman.

Library Activities Kick-off

We are gearing up to start our library activities for this year!

Our interest meeting for Project LIT will be Tuesday, 9/24. We will be choosing this year’s books so please attend if you want a vote!

Our first tabletop gaming session will be Thursday, 9/26. Bring your Magic or Pokemon cards, or come ready to play Castle Panic!

Our first open Makerspace is Tuesday, 10/8. Our featured craft is Guatemalan Worry Dolls for Hispanic Heritage month.

No sign up is necessary for library activities – bus passes will be provided. I hope to see you there!
